You can be notified when you receive a direct message on Twitter.  Here’s how to set this up.
1.  Log into your Twitter account.
2.  Click on Settings
3.  Check the box that says “Direct Text Emails”.

US Adult Twitter Users

More people are using Twitter than ever before.
US adult Twitterers (or is it Tweeterers?) totaled 6 million in 2008.  In 2009, the amount of Twitterers tripled to 18 million.  Projected Twitterers for 2010 are 26 million; that’s 15.5% of all adults who are online!
