Search Continues to Expand

If anybody thinks that Google has reached its zenith, think again.
According to ComScore, there were 131 billion searches in December, 2009.  That’s a 46% increase in searches over the previous year.

15.9 billion searches were performed by Americans in May 2010; that’s up 3% from just a month earlier, according to comScore.
Google continues to lead the pack wtih 63.7% market share.  Yahoo was at 18.3% and MSN at 12.1%.

Searching on a mobile phone means Google, although it doesn’t have the same lead that it has on computer searches.  In total, 13.5% of all mobile web page views are spent using search engines.

According to ComScore’s December ‘09 study, search engine market share in the USA is as follows:

Google - 65.7%
Yahoo - 17.3%
MSN - 10.3%
Ask - 3.7%
AOL - 2.6%

Internet Advertising Shows ‘08 Growth

Internet advertising in 2008 showed a growth of 10.6% over 2007–not bad considering the state of the economy.  (Source — PriceWaterhouseCoopers)
