FaceBook — Not Just for High School Anymore

July 1st, 2008 at 01:20pm Under Internet Statistics+ Social Media Marketing

Social Media MarketingFacebook is young, but not all of it.  Social media is growing quickly so if you plan on sitting on the sidelines much longer, you may miss out on this expanding phenomenon.

In fact, 13% of American Facebook users are over the age of 30.  In Canada, 34% are over the age of 30.  With 25 million American members, that’s over 3 million Americans 30+ who have Facebook accounts.  It’s the same 3 million population in Canada where middle age users are already all over the premiere social networking site.

Social networking is here now.  If your target market isn’t quite there yet, it will be soon.

Why SEO is SO Important

March 5th, 2008 at 08:29am Under Internet Statistics+ search engine optimization

SEO logosEver wonder why search engine optimization is so important?  If you’re not a believer now, check out these stats from Forrester Research (2006):

*  93% of all internet traffic is generated from search engines.

*  97% of searchers never look past the top three positions. (This seems high to me, but it’s their results nevertheless.)

*  76.7% of Google users use the natural organic listings rather than the paid pay-per-click listings.
