2010: Internet Advertising Grows by 15%
Online advertising revenues reached a record $26 billion in the 2010 year. That represents a 15 percent increase over a poor 2009 year as online advertisers continue to spend more as the country continue to snap out of the recession.
Search advertising remains the biggest piece of the pie, although search grew by only 12% versus the overall growth of internet advertising of 15%.
For the first time, the Interactive Advertising Bureau also included a new mobile ad revenue which includes everything from mobile apps advertising to text message marketing as a category. Revenue for mobile ads was estimated at $650 million.
