The Federal Trade Commission has the ability to levy fines of up to $11,000 to bloggers that do not reveal their relationships with paid advertisers.
Companies such as Blogsvertise, which acts as a middleman between advertisers and bloggers, might be affected by rules like this, although it appears to be another one of those rules that is going to be extremely difficult to enforce. Nevertheless, it’s a good idea anyway for bloggers to reveal the endorsement of a product or brand is a paid advertisement.
