Bloggers Need Strong Opinions
Lee Odden is the CEO of Top Rank Online Marketing and Top Rank Blog. I had the pleasure of hearing Lee speak at the Search Engine Strategies Show in New York City this week. Lee spoke at two sessions that I attended concerning blogging.
Lee suggested that it is best to use blogs on your main corporate web site and that he prefers subdomains to mark the URL of your corporate blog. Using a subdomain allows the corporate blogger to consolidate the link equity of the blog, assuming that your blog does succeed in obtaining inbound links.
The other thing that I came away from Lee’s speeches with is that bloggers need to have a strong opinion to get read, especially in the early days of the blogging. I am going to emphasize this more on my fantasy baseball blog: A-Rod you suck!
